Twilight Controls Not Mixed

George Harrison has confirmed in a Camp Hyrule Q&A session that the Wii version of Twilight Princess will not be compatible with the Gamecube controller. Here it is in his words:
“The GCN controller will be able to play the GCN version on the Wii console, but will not be able to play the Wii version.”
Seems logical but it’s been one of those slow days so there it is.

Sonic Not Wild Anymore?

Sonic Team has revealed today that the Wii-exclusive “Sonic Wild Fire” has received a final name. The new Sonic game will now be known as “Sonic and the Secret Rings”. I personally could care less what the final name is because it doesn’t change the fact that I’m still going to buy this great game. But I do like the new name too :)

Will Wright talks Spore, DS, and Wii

IGN just posted a nice interview with Spore creator Will Wright. He talks about development of the title and the possibilities of cross-platform pollenation. Here is the Wii/DS highlight of the interview:
IGN: Do you have any ideas of how the game would play on the Wii?
Wright: We’ve been messing around with the Wii dev kit and we’re really interested in the possibilities there. It’s possible the editors might be more manageable on that system. The DS is also very interesting to us, as its control scheme could be very manageable for the game.
He seems rather optimistic about both Wii and the DS. In the interview, he also talks about the possibility of communication between platforms and player-created content. Follow the link for the full interview.

Wii Hoes Harvest Moon

Harvest Moon, which was confirmed for Wii at E3, now has some more details that have been revealed. IGN has the following to report on how the wiimote will be utilized:
“The control scheme shouldn’t come as much of a surprise for those who’ve played Harvest Moon. You perform all your farming chores with direct controller motions. To till your garden’s soil, for instance, you swing the controller like a hoe. To water your planets, you tilt the controller downwards as you would a bucket. The controller is expected to be used similarly when fishing and taking care of animals.” – IGN Wii
I’m continually impressed that developers are really thinking of how they can use the wiimote to enhance gameplay.
