We posted previously about a Japanese Interview about the full version of the Internet Channel complete with videos.  Well, us.wii.com has been updated with the English translation.  One of the new features they talk about is the overall speed improvement:

The other feature that has really improved is its responsiveness. Many people had pointed out to us about how much time it took to load the Channel, and how long it took to display the Favorites. These were things that we were very concerned about as well, and improving their responsiveness was our top priority. As a result, we were able to shorten the initial startup time by more than five seconds, and the Favorites menu can be used right away once it opens, even if you added a lot of sites to it.
