Yesterday we poster some Wiiware details, taken from an IGN podcast. One of the details mentioned a size limit for games, 40mb. Will Eurogamer contacted Nintendo about this issue, and this is what they had to say:

“I can confirm as we originally said at the announcement of the WiiWare service earlier in the year that WiiWare games will come in a range of sizes but we will encourage smaller, more compact games for the service,” a Nintendo spokesperson told Eurogamer today.

Not sure where IGN got their info from, but it looks like Nintendo is saying that there really isn’t any limit. I just would like to say the Final Fantasy looks like it could be a little larger the 40mb.
