  • Survey: 46% of Stores Selling M-Rated Games To Minors

    Posted November 23rd by jahiggin

A two month undercover survey produced in part by the NIMF (National Institute on Media and Family) has found that 46 percent of U.S. stores investigated were willing to sell “M for Mature” rated games to teenagers younger then eighteen years of age.

This is why the gaming industry gets a bad name. Doesn’t movie theaters and video stores get in trouble selling to minors. Heck I’ve been to a few movies where there was a cop at the entrance checking people ID’s. Maybe we should do that for games.  I know kind of drastic, but something needs to be done.

yeah, but you dont have to be 18 to buy M games. you only have to be 17 so maybe that 46% is all 17 year olds and the store is doing nothing wrong.
