There is a Wii shop channel update up, you will have to go to your Wii settings a select Wii system update. With this update you will be able to now send VC titles as X-mas gifts. Also if you want to, you can download the new photo channel and lose the MP3 support for it.

UPDATE: Here’s a list of what we know so far that the update covered:

• Wii Shop main menu icon and launch page changed
• Photo Channel update available through WiiWare
  • With The Photo Update you will be able to set one of your pics as the icon on the Wii menu screen. Remember you will lose your MP3 capability on the Photo channel with this update.
• Gift-giving enabled
• Pokemon Snap available in EU
