“It’s not just about guitars,” Kotick says. “We’ll include a lot of other instruments, vocals. It will help us expand internationally. It’s the first game we’ve had in which we can use local content and local bands.”

I would say that GH is coping Rock Band, but this is the obvious next step in the game. I knew at one point GH would do this. It just looks like Rock Band is causing them to do it sooner then later. GH does one-up Rock Band, with its ability to play local bands.
