During a Q&A session at a recent earnings meeting, Nintendo’s head honcho, Satoru Iwata, went on record saying that Nintendo is going to launch a test program to release WiiWare demos later this month.  There will only be a few titles at first, but I would assume if it’s successful, we will see a lot more of them!  I think it’s definitely a step in the right direction for Nintendo.  And who knows, maybe this will eventually lead to Nintendo offering downloadable Wii demos?  I’ve been wanting to try out the new LostWinds, so this may be the perfect opportunity.
