Tic-Toc games have announced a release date for their Kickstarter-funded title, Adventures of Pip, which is due for release on the Wii U this May.

The game, which follows the adventures of one-pixel hero Pip, takes an interesting spin on the retro-platforming genre. Pip lives in a 32-bit world, but can gather pixels from fallen enemies to evolve into different forms, all in the name of solving puzzles, rescuing a princess, and standing up to the evil Skeleton Queen.

We’ve been eagerly awaiting further news since we reported on the Kickstarter project last May. The project was a resounding success, gathering over 2000 backers to hit 164% of its funding goal in October 2014.
