Clayton here. I was about to grab my morning coffee when A.R.A.M. hit me with his electric “productivity motivator” (a cattle prod) and told me that I should tell the Atlus Faithful about the improvements to Luminous Arc 2.

Well, the first thing a player is probably going to notice is the revamped UI. It’s evident from the moment you start up the game. Every menu screen is full of lively color and just a general upgrade in the level of polish.

The moment you get into battle, you’ll notice the revamped control scheme. Instead of having to switch between the D-Pad and the stylus, you’ll have it all incorporated into one seamless interface. You’ll proably notice that the game is a bit more difficult and some of your “tactics” from last game are no longer viable. No longer will you just be able to huck potions at your slightly wounded teammates for cheap XP, and you won’t get a full heal for leveling anymore. No more training wheels!

You’ll also probably notice that eveything that made the first game such a blast; the colorful characters, the humor, the 2D art, the intermissions, the Wi-Fi battles, and most importantly Kopin, are all still there.

Last, but not least, you’ll notice the lovely Witches that Roland can Engage with. Despite appearances, your party members won’t be rushing out to get Roland the gifts on his registry… It’s just Roland gaining the powers of the Witches via the Runic Engine fused to his hand. These abilites will allow Roland to use the skills of the Witch he is engaged to, as well as unlocking his Flash Drive attacks.
