At the Tokyo Game Show Polygon caught up with Atsushi Inaba, Executive Director at Platinum Games.  During Polygon’s interview with Inaba he had this to say “Would Bayonetta 2 not exist without Nintendo? The answer is yes.”  Inaba also went on to say “We were looking for a partner to create Bayonetta 2 and Nintendo was a strong, cooperative partner that was willing to create and grow Bayonetta 2 together. As a result the platform became the Wii U.”  For those of you who don’t know, fans of the original Bayonetta were pretty upset with the announcement that the sequel would be coming to the Wii U exclusively.  Some fans went so far as to create a website to boycott Platinum Games because of the announcement.  So for those of you upset about the change in platform, you may want to thank Nintendo because without Nintendo’s interest in the game we may not have been graced with the sequel.  You can see a teaser trailer for Bayonetta 2 below.
