Successful Start to the GC – Games Convention 2008
Europe’s biggest computer and video games fair, the GC – Games Convention in Leipzig, began today with crowds of visitors. 38,000 game fans (2007: 35,000) flocked to the Leipzig Exhibition Centre from 9.00, eager to test out the latest games and the respective hardware. 8,000 trade visitors had already registered yesterday in the GC Business Center (2007: 6,000). Through to Sunday, a total of 547 companies are occupying an area of 115,000 square metres to show their products for interactive entertainment, including more than 300 world, European and German premieres. The exhibition halls are open daily from 9,00 to 18.00, and to 20.00 on Friday and Saturday.
Editors please note: Burkhard Jung, the mayor of Leipzig City, is visting the GC – Games Convention on Friday, 22 August. He will be taken on a guided tour of the exhibition halls starting at 13.00 (leaving from the: Guests Club in the “Messehaus” office building).
