Using U.S. NPD Group data through November, Mattrick points out that consumers in North America have spent over $3.5 billion on Xbox 360 hardware, software and accessories - $1 billion more than spent on the cheaper Wii and $2 billion more than on the generally more expensive PlayStation 3.

Your probably asking your self, “James why are you posting Microsoft propaganda?”  Well because they probably have a point, and here’s the reason why.  I own both a 360 and a Wii.  When  you buy a 360 all you get is a gaming machine.  Its not wireless, you got to buy a Wireless adapter. If you want to play HD movies, you have to buy an HD adapter.  If you  want to go online you have to buy an Xbox live account, and so on.  The Wii what you buy is what you get. Yes you can get the Wii Zapper and Classic controller, but they are not needed.  I am not saying that Nintendo is better off not having all these accessories, It is better of because the internet is free. I am just saying that you can’t claim victory because you have more stuff to buy then the others.  Just look at the console sales, the Wii is still blowing the 360 out of the water. Thats my rant for the day.

I was browsing my local Target store earlier this evening. While checking out its electronic section I ran across a dead 360 kiosk.

I am one of the “very” lucky 360 owners.  I got mine off of ebay back in June, and the guy told me it was a year old then.  I have seen the red rings of death only after playing movies, but it was always fine after a restart of the system.  I have heard stories of  people going through 360 after 360. I am just wondering, has anyone had any problems with their Wii? I know I haven’t.

One of us at niwifi.net had this pic set to their desktop for over a year. I am not going to name any names, but his/her name rhymes with “ustin.”   What are you playing on this last wiikend, for many of you, before you go back to school.

This whole week has felt like the Wiikend to me. I’ve just sat around with family and friends all week, and even the news this week was slow like a weekend. I suspect that the beginning of next week will probably be just as slow. The Saturday morning picture is a very special one to me. Thats my 11 month old nephew holding the Wii-mote for his first time, got to start them young. Do you have any Wii holiday stories? Or did you get any Wii games during the Holidays. A little Christmas miracle story: Earlier today, I was loading a new virus program on my computer. Vista decided that it didn’t like it, like it doesn’t like a lot of things, and crashed. I tried and tried to get my computer back and failed horribly. Then about 10 minutes ago, at the stroke of midnight (ET) on Christmas day, I turned on my computer. And, to my joyous shouts my computer was working. Stupid Vista!! Merry Christmas. For those on the West Coast, Merry Christmas in 3 hours.

With news beginning to slow down for the holidays, I thought it was time for another Niwifi contest. When the Wii gift giving capability was launched in the Wii shop channel I was excited to try it out.
