Publisher supporting Nintendo Power’s 20th anniversary charity event – and showing off two DS titles

September 10, 2008 — cdv Software Entertainment USA is joining Nintendo Power to celebrate the publication’s 20th anniversary, and helping out a good cause at the same time. On Friday, September 12, 2008, from 6 to 10 p.m., the doors to the Nintendo World store at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City will open up for a VIP mixer, including an appearance by urban fashion icon Marc Ecko and others, with music from leading DJs and a silent auction – all to benefit the Starlight Children’s Foundation, a charitable organization that helps lessen the impact of serious illness for children and their parents. At 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Nintendo World store will open to the general public, giving the first 400 people through the door some great grab bags of gaming goodies. All attendees will also have the opportunity to win exciting prizes, take part in various competitions and the chance to play several new and soon-to-be-released Nintendo DS™ and Wii™ games, including the upcoming I Heart Geeks! and My Little Baby from cdv Software Entertainment USA.

“We’re very excited to be able to participate in this great event that underscores the positive side of the video game industry — one comprised of generous and caring individuals, in most cases pursuing something that started as a passion for playing games during childhood,” said Mario Kroll, Director of Marketing and PR for cdv Software Entertainment USA. “We’re delighted to be able to share our passion for games with a new generation and, at the same time, unite behind Starlight’s wonderful cause that helps make life a little easier for children suffering serious illness.”
