Today I picked up the phone and called two local Gamestop locations to ask about Gamestop Wii U pre-orders.  The first store I contacted the employee told me that they are in fact no longer pre-ordering the Deluxe Wii U Bundle but the Basic Bundle is still available to pre-order.  He also informed me that Best Buy and Amazon are also no longer taking pre-orders as well.  The second Gamestop store I called said that they are not taking any more pre-orders on the Deluxe Bundle.  He added that the Basic Bundle would probably only be available through today.  As I reported yesterday Amazon is not stocking Nintendo hardware period, let alone taking pre-orders for the Wii U.  I have contacted my local Best Buy and the employee there did not know if they were taking pre-orders for the Wii U yet.  After checking, the Best Buy employee said  that both Wii U bundles are still available for pre-order.  I guess if you would still like a Deluxe Wii U Bundle, then you better head on over to Best Buy now before they are sold out there as well!  I would suggest calling your local Best Buy before heading out to the store because as of right now all Wii U Bundles, Basic and Deluxe, are sold out on the Best Buy website.  The Wii U has actually been removed from the Best Buy website all together.

UPDATE: So I just spent a half hour on the phone with Amazon.com customer support and spoke with a supervisor, Laura, about the reasoning behind Amazon.com not stocking Nintendo hardware.  She said that she was not aware of any specific reasons as to why Amazon would not carry the hardware and she was going to contact a different department with my question and see if she could find out any more information.  I will update this post if I get any response back from Amazon.com.
