When the Nintendo and DeNA partnership was announced we were left with more questions than answer. We knew the first game would release by the end of this year, which is still true, and that the released games may be a little different from what we expect.

DeNA West CEO Shintaro Asako had this to say about the upcoming Nintendo calibrated games.

“I understand some people like RPGs, casual games. That’s why we decided to work together to create five games, hitting on different genre-utilizing IPs. We want to make sure out of those five IP that we can end up attracting hundreds of millions of people,”

Asako goes on to talk about how the plan is to release the first game by the end of 2015 and have four more out by the end of 2017.

Not only is it going to be a challenge to develop five different genre games but according to Asako, “people are expecting a lot” and the pressure is real.
