Earthbound, known as Mother 2 in Japan, is a fan favorite of many gamers and recently fans have been asking Nintendo to bring the game to the Virtual Console in Europe and North America.  To much fanfare, Nintendo announced on Wednesday during a Nintendo Direct that fans of Earthbound will be able to get the game from the Wii U Virtual Console before the end of the year.  The above video (via Nintendaan on YouTube) is a clip of the Earthbound announcement from the Nintendo Direct.
