Nintendo is being a little more forthright about the availability of the immensely popular GameCube Adapter, compared to their statements about amiibo.  Stock for the device has dwindled and prices have soared due to the lack of availability.  There were even rumors that the adapter was discontinued all together.  Now Nintendo of Europe has issued a very clear statement, below, that the GameCube Adapter is not discontinued and that they are trying very hard to keep up with demand.

“We would like to reassure you that GameCube Controller Adapter for Wii U has not been discontinued by Nintendo of Europe and we are doing everything we possibly can to meet the demand which is currently outstripping supply.

We are unable to comment specifically on individual retailer stock levels and as such we ask customers to contact their local retailers directly regarding their availability of this product. We would however like to reassure you that we are working hard to ensure that additional stock can be made available and delivered to retailers.”

Furthermore, GameStop has listed the GameCube Adapter for release next week on December 15th possibly indicating that they will be getting more of the adapters in stock.  So rejoice gamers and make sure to pick up the GameCube Adapter early before stock vanishes into thin air again!
