[expand title=”Click here for the full press release”] BELLEVUE, Wash.— Aug. 19, 2013—With Pokémon fans already counting down the days to the October 12th worldwide launch of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, an extremely rare and exciting opportunity to receive your own Shiny versions of the Legendary Pokémon Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina begins today in the U.S., only at participating GameStop stores. Head to GameStop and get a Level 100 Dialga until September 8th. Catching a Legendary Pokémon is difficult enough under normal circumstances, but this particular Dialga is Shiny—it has different coloring that almost never appears when players encounter it in Pokémon Diamond, making this limited-time event even more extraordinary. While at GameStop, Pokémon fans can pre-order a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y.

Fans can return to GameStop starting September 9th to get a Level 100 Palkia, a Legendary Pokémon encountered in Pokémon Pearl. This Palkia is also a Shiny Pokémon with unusual coloring. Rounding out this trio of limited-time events will be the distribution of a Level 100 Giratina beginning September 30th at GameStop stores, a Legendary Pokémon that is encountered in both Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. Like Dialga and Palkia, this Giratina is also Shiny. Each Shiny Legendary Pokémon is available for only three weeks each, so Trainers will need to plan accordingly to take advantage of this special opportunity.

Starting today, you can get Shiny Dialga only at participating GameStop locations by bringing in your copy of Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, or Pokémon White 2 and your Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo DS system. Here are the dates for all three distributions:

Shiny Dialga: Monday, August 19th, 2013–Sunday, September 8th, 2013
Shiny Palkia: Monday, September 9th, 2013–Sunday, September 29th, 2013
Shiny Giratina: Monday, September 30th, 2013–Sunday, October 21st, 2013

This Shiny Dialga is a rarely seen and hard-to-get Pokémon that arrives in a deep-green teal color, different from its usual dark blue coloring. It promises to unleash time-shattering Steel- and Dragon-type moves. Following the Shiny Dialga distribution event, the Shiny Palkia fans get knows devastating Water- and Dragon-type moves and is a formidable addition to any team. Finally, the fierce Ghost- and Dragon-type moves of Shiny Giratina are sure to strike fear in any opponent.

Players will need to have the Pokédex within the game and have no more than 11 Wonder Cards in their possession.

In Canada, the Shiny Dialga character distribution event begins Friday, August 30th, at participating EB Games locations. Canadian players can get a Shiny Palkia beginning Friday, September 13th, and a Shiny Giratina beginning Friday, September 27th, at participating EB Games stores across Canada.
