Blowfish Studios is bringing their hybrid FPS/world-building game, Gunscape, to the Wii U in 2016.

Gunscape is currently in Early Access on the PC, with the full version set to release simultaneously in Q1 2016 for PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U, whereupon it will become the first game to offer sharable user made content across all of those platforms.

The eager studio already has DLC planned, with some horror themed content called Seismic.  One of its aims is to “bring back fond memories of certain classic sci-fi first-person shooters.” Due three months after the launch of the game, the Seismic content will feature futuristic enemies, weapons and level design elements. Players will be able to create their own single player campaigns and multiplayer maps, as well as play those created by others.

An ambitious project for sure, hopefully Wii U owners will have a chance to create, share, and play before too long, with a release date of quarter 1 2016 set at this stage.
