Nintendo has confirmed during their Annual Shareholders Meeting that current president, Satoru Iwata, has been re-elected to the Board of Directors.

Satoru Iwata was unable to attend today’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders following surgery. His re-election will grant him at least another year to continue working to turn Nintendo’s fortunes around after recent financial concerns due to low sales.

The company’s Notice of Resolution names all ten directors, including Shigeru Miyamoto and one new appointment:

This proposal was approved and resolved as originally proposed. The nine candidates, Messrs. Satoru Iwata, Genyo Takeda, Shigeru Miyamoto, Tatsumi Kimishima, Shigeyuki Takahashi, Satoshi Yamato, Susumu Tanaka, Shinya Takahashi and Hirokazu Shinshi, were re-elected and one candidate, Mr. Naoki Mizutani, was elected, and all ten candidates assumed office as Directors.
