How quickly the weeks pass by! The latest sales report from Japan is in, and this week we see that Yokai Watch 2 – as expected – has sold well over the 2 million mark, moving another 120,682 units to safely secure the number one position again this week.

The 3DS continues to dominate the charts with two new titles filling in second and third positions, namely Dragon Ball Heroes and Senran Kagura 2, with 81,000 and 46,000 units each.

With the Wii U, Mario Kart 8 has slipped to sixth position, despite selling 2000 more than last week with over 20,000 units. Another Wii U game has crept into the top 20 this week too, with Dragon Age X: All-In-One Package from Square Enix debuting at number seventeen.

Turning to hardware, the 3DS is still the dominant console, selling almost twice as many as its nearest competitor, Sony’s handheld. Interestingly, the Wii U and the 3DS were the only platforms with increased sales this week, with all others seeing a slight decrease. So although sales aren’t exactly booming, at least Nintendo is performing well in an ailing market.
