A release date has been revealed for Wii U underwater racing title, Jett Tailfin. The game, which was first announced in 2012, has been given an August 7 release date.

The game follows central character Jett Tailfin and his friends in quirky underwater races full of enemies, obstacles and shortcuts. Players will be challenged to accumulate as many points as they can while finding the best route to the finish line. You’ll be able to choose from a large variety of different types of fish to race, each mimicking true-to-life attributes of real fish.

The game will also include:

  • over 16 colorful-looking tracks, such as Atlantis, Ship Graveyard, and Pirates Island.
  • natural enemies to avoid, like sharks, rays, and jellyfish
  • multiplayer mode
  • bonus mini-ventures to unlock
  • weapons to slow down your opponents, like an electric eel, blowfish, and octopus
