Kensuke Tanabe, the Metroid Prime series producer, talked about how the game started development back in 2009. After seeing the New Nintendo 3DS, the project was restarted. Tanabe talked about why Samus couldn’t be the main character, although she will still appear. He also teased that topics like the art style, and Blastball would be discussed at a later time.
