We’re a little late due to a public holiday in Europe, but it’s time to check out the latest releases due to hit the European eShop this Thursday. There’s plenty to choose from this week, from new releases, classic Pokémon games, discounts galore, and even a movie.

Wii U eShop

  • PONCHO (Rising Star Games, €8.99 / £7.99) – this open-world game includes a range of colorful characters, using parallax layers to solve puzzles and save humanity.
  • Blasting Agent: Ultimate Edition (Ratalaika Games, €4.99 / £4.49) – this jump and shoot game follows the Blasting Agent as he  puts a stop to the Black Hand of Fate, an international Terrorist Group that has constructed a secret volcano base and a massive army of bio-engineered soldiers and genetic monsters.
  • Word Logic by POWGI (Lightwood Games, €8.99 / £7.99) – this collection features six brand new word puzzles with a common theme of logic and deduction. There are hundreds of pencil-and-paper style puzzles to solve using the stylus and a choice of intuitive touch-screen controls or handwriting recognition.
  • Citadale (Nitrolic Games, €4.52 / £4.09) – this 2D Action game follows Sonja Dorleac as she fights her way through a dark fortress to battle hordes of the undead. Features include use of the GamePad and TV to view the entire map, and Miiverse integration.
  • Collateral Thinking (Astrosaurus Games, €2.99 / £2.69) – this arcade-style action platformer sees you battling alien ghosts, recovering blueprints, and rescuing billionaires. Levels are within a self-contained screen that gives you one of three specific tasks to complete in 30 short seconds, like avoiding hazards, busting all enemies, or collecting blueprints.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Pokémon Snap (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) – this game was originally released on the N64 in 1999, and features wild Pokémon ready for capturing – with a camera.
  • Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) – this 2009 game was originally released on the DS, and allows the player to become a Pokémon and experience the world in a different way.

  • Word Logic by POWGI (Lightwood Games, €8.99 / £7.99) – another portable version of the Wii U release above, this one comes with a cross-platform promotion and is free if you buy the Wii U eShop version, or vice versa.
  • Brick Race (RCMADIAX, €1.49 / £1.39) – this racing title sees you dodging traffic to achieve the highest score. You can also share your score on Miiverse.
  • Jump Trials Supreme (Joindots, €4.99 / £4.19) – every second counts in this desperate racing game, where you must reach your goal in 10 seconds, leaping from platform to platform across obstacle courses.

  • Inazuma Eleven The Movie (Arait Multimedia, €3.99/ £3.59) – 80 years after Raimon Jr. High won the Football Frontier, football has gained a strong popularity and Mark’s relentless spirit and his style of cherishing his teammates, which contributed to their victory, has influenced many people to love football. However, there are some people who aren’t happy with this situation. The revolutionaries, led by Seymour Hillman, believe football weakens the minds of children in the future. They think that the cause of this is the captain of Raimon Jr. High, Mark Evans, so they formed the strongest team, consisting of specially trained soldiers, and called it Team Ogre. They send the team to the Football Frontier 80 years in the past to stop Raimon Jr. High becoming champions and to change history.
