As the weekend draws near, it’s time to see what’s newly available on the European eShop. This week brings with it a long list of new releases across all platforms, including big titles like Miitopia and Hey! Pikmin for 3DS, Namco Museum and Overcooked for the Switch, loads of summer discounts, and much more besides.

Nintendo Switch eShop

  • Namco Museum (Bandai Namco, €29.99 / £29.99) – this highly anticipated release features 11 games, including Pac-Man VS., which requires two Switch systems to play. There are also inclusions like online leaderboards and a vertical rotation for some games to create an arcade feel. Watch for our review soon. Note: available from 28th July.
  • Namco Museum (Pac-Man VS. Free Multiplayer-only Ver.) (Bandai Namco, free) – a nice surprise to coincide with the above release, this is a free download that lets you play multiplayer sessions of Pac-Man VS. Note: available from 28th July.
  • Overcooked: Special Edition (Team17, €19.99 / £17.99) – this popular PC title comes to the Switch with DLC add-ons and HD rumble. It’s a cooking game, with several chaotic modes like solo, co-op and versus in which you’ll prepare wacky dishes under tough conditions.
  • Ultra Hyperball (Springloaded, €9.99 / £8.99) – this party game boasts chaotic fun, with retro-style visuals and multiplayer and single-player options. Plus it supports touch screen and motion controls. Note: available from 28th July.
  • Super Sidekicks (HAMSTER, €6.99 / £6.29) – the latest ACA Neo Geo release hails from 1992 with this soccer title, famous for its quick and compelling gameplay.
  • Qbics Paint (Abylight, €4.99 / £4.49) – this creative title sees you sculpting digitally with 3D blocks, with various modes and options to help you along, like freestyle or constructing set figurines. You can also easily share to social media through the system’s capture button.
  • Physical Contact: SPEED (Collavier €4.99 / £4.49) – this simplistic-looking card game can be played solo or with another player.

  • Hey! Pikmin (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) – this 2D spin-off of the much-loved Pikmin series takes a new approach with a side-scrolling platform puzzle adventure. We enjoyed the demo, and we’re working on a full review right now, so stay tuned. Note: available from 28th July.
  • Miitopia (Nintendo, €39.99 / £34.99) – this RPG puts your Miis at the center of the story, with charm, wit and a level of accessibility that means anyone can play. We’re working on this review too, so keep an eye out for our thoughts. Note: available from 28th July.
  • Dr Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training: Can You Stay Focused? (Nintendo, €29.99 / £24.99) – a new round of mind exercises finally hits the 3DS in Europe, with this game designed to exercise your short term memory and focus. Note: available from 28th July.

  • Kid Tripp (Four Horses, €3.99 / £3.59) – a platform autorunner featuring 20 levels across 4 worlds, with retro visuals, 60fps gameplay and stereoscopic 3D.
