Monday in Europe can only mean one thing, it’s time to reveal this week’s Nintendo downloads. This Thursday, like most others, brings with it a variety of titles, from skateboarding trickery to never-before-released NES classics, Cooking Mama’s latest kitchen escapades and much more in between.

Wii U eShop

  • OlliOlli (Curve Digital, €8.49 / £6.79 until 19th March, then €9.99 / £7.99) – the popular skateboarding title heads to the Wii U, with its simple control scheme for performing tricky combos and perfecting your landing. It features crafty stages, online leaderboards and daily online challenges to tackle. This is also available as a special cross-buy – if purchased on Wii U or 3DS you’ll be able to download the other version free on the same Nintendo Network ID.
  • BLOK DROP X TWISTED FUSION (RCMADIAX, €2.99 / £2.69) – blending the falling block puzzle mechanics of Blok Drop with the fantasy world of upcoming Twisted Fusion comes this twist to the puzzling genre.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll (Culture Brain, €4.99 / £3.49) – for the first time in Europe comes this NES game, originally released in Japan and the US in 1987 and 1989 respectively. The game features a mix of sidescrolling stages and one-on-one bouts as you play the role of Chinese warrior Ryuhi, battling Tusk Soldiers to seek vengeance for your master and the stolen scroll of the title. Note: this is the US version of the game.
  • Kung-Fu Heroes (Culture Brain, €4.99 / £3.49) – another first for Europe comes this NES title originally released in 1986 in Japan and 1988 in the US. This time it’s a top-down affair, with plenty of retro-styled beat ’em up action. Note: this is the US version of the game.

3DS eShop

  • OlliOlli (Curve Digital, €8.49 / £6.79 until 19th March, then €9.99 / £7.99) – the handheld version of the above Wii U title, with a slightly more zoomed out perspective but with the same features, and available in a free cross-buy promotion if purchased on the same Nintendo Network ID.
  • Proun+ (Engine Software, €4.99 / £4.50 until 19th March, then €5.99 / £5.39) – this is a journey through modern art, originally released on smart devices, that uses a simple momentum-based concept to guide a ball along tricky cables. Avoid the obstacles as your speed increases through four different game modes, with stylish visuals and catchy soundtrack.
  • Music On: Electric Guitar (Abylight, €1.99 / £1.89) – your 3DS becomes a guitar and your stylus the pick as you pluck your way through over 950 chords and several pedal effects.
  • League of Heroes (Gamelion, €3.99 / £3.59) – this hack ‘n’ slash comes from smart phones originally, and features a unique level-up system that incorporates abilities and strength with the type of weapons and armor you can acquire as you fell more enemies. We gave it a good review earlier this year, despite its repetitiveness.

3DS Retail Download

  • Cooking Mama 5: Bon Appétit (Nintendo, €29.99 / £24.99) – the fifth entry in the popular cooking simulation series has been some time coming, with a 2013 release in Japan and 2014 release in the US. Still, it finally makes its way to Europe, positive reinforcement and cuteness intact, and features over 60 recipes and new household activity games. Note: available from March 6.
  • Gardening Mama 2: Forest Friends (Nintendo, €29.99 / £24.99) – Available from March 6.
  • Best of Casual Games (Bigben Interactive, €24.99 / £19.99)
  • Hollywood Fame: Hidden Object Adventure (Bigben Interactive, €24.99 / £19.99)
