As we welcome another week we look toward the latest round of eShop releases to hit Europe this Thursday. The Wii U in particular has a busy schedule, with some great releases including Mario’s latest sporting adventure and an Animal Crossing Virtual Console release, among other eShop releases and discounts.

Wii U eShop

  • Typoman (Headup Games, €13.99 / £9.99 or €11.49 / £8.49 until 19th December with E3 Nindies@Home demo on same system) – this puzzle platformer is a Wii U exclusive for now, and takes the interesting approach of using letters to manipulate your environment, set in a dark surreal world.
  • Ninja Strike: Dangerous Dash (Natsume, €5.99 / £4.99) – a basic action title in which you run through levels collecting treasures and taking out bad guys.
  • Totem Topple (Crystalline Green, €2.99 / £1.99) – an intriguing-sounding budget title involving totem building and tower defence elements, with totem heads of varying designs having a different effect against attacking creatures, in both Classic and Frantic modes.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo, €9.99 / £8.99) – this charming game brings a traditional AC experience to the Wii U eShop, and was originally released on the DS in 2005. This download version won’t include online or multiplayer features.

Wii U Retail Downloads

  • Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (Nintendo, €49.99 / £39.99) – Mario’s latest sporting outing brings our favorite plumber back to the tennis court, this time in HD. This latest entry in the Mario Tennis series introduces Mega Mushrooms and bigger jump shots, as well as the ability to level up an amiibo buddy for doubles play. This one is available from 20th November, and a copy of the original Mario Tennis (from the N64 in 2000) is free with all download purchases until 17th December.
  • Barbie and her Sisters Puppy Rescue (Little Orbit, €29.99 / £24.99)
