Welcome to the weekend! For the Pure Nintendo team, it’s time to work on those playlists. What games are you playing right now? We always have a gaming to-do list on the go, and here’s our collection this week.

Are you looking for gaming inspiration this weekend? Check out our playlist below and let us know which games you’re playing right now.

  • Earthbound (Wii U VC): I started playing this about a week ago. I freaking love this game. Right now I’m making my way through the Fire Spring. There are some tough enemies lurking around in there, but my whole team is almost to level 70 so I’ve totally got this :) If you’ve never had a chance to play Earthbound I highly recommend checking it out!
  • PixelMaker (Wii U): I’m playing this for an upcoming review. I love anything art related so it’s been fun for me. Since I’ve been playing Earthbound I decided to recreate a couple scenes from the game to include in my review. It should be finished in the next couple days so let me know whatcha think ;)
  • Shantae and the Pirates Curse (3DS): I got this awesome game for $1 in the humble bundle deal that’s going on. I’ve never had the chance to play a Shantae game so I was pretty excited. It’s had me hooked from the beginning and I’m sad to say I’m almost through with this exciting new adventure. Last night I made it to the final island and “accidentally” released the Pirate King. Now I must save Sequinland and my rival, Risky Boots before it’s too late! It’s been a lot of fun.
  • Escape From Flare Industries (Wii U eshop): Another future review. I haven’t had a chance to play this one that much but it seems like an alright little action/adventure game.

  • Midnight 2 (Wii U eShop): If my review isn’t up by the time this list posts, it should follow shortly.
  • Runbow (Wii U eShop): My impressions on the new DLC are very late (sorry about that)  but should post any day.
  • Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse (3DS eShop): After Shantae graced the cover of PNM #27, it occurred to me that I’d never played a game in the series.  Thanks to James for sending me a download code.  I’m just over 50% completed.
  • WarioWare: Touched! (3DS/DSiWare): I cashed in some My Nintendo coins for this one.  I hadn’t played the game in forever and a day.  It’s fun.

  • Bravely Second: End Layer (3DS): A little more time with this gorgeous RPG, since I’m still leveling up my job classes. I may have to go back and play the original game again after this, if I can find it. Also check out my Bravely Second review if you missed it last week!
  • Fire Emblem: Awakenings (3DS): Back into this one, I’m still working through the main game and it’s getting tougher! I have my favorite characters to use in each battle now, it’s so much fun and I’m hoping to complete this one before Fire Emblem: Fates comes out later this month in Australia (I’ve already pre-ordered that one).
  • Dan McFox Head Hunter (3DS): A little more time with this Guess Who x Mii Finder, and I’ll have my review up very soon.
  • Lego City Undercover (Wii U): I loved this game when it first came out, despite the slow loading times, lack of multiplayer and lack of offline GamePad play. And now my five-year-old is totally into it! I completed the main game a few years ago, but I’m having fun playing through again with him. The story is very funny and the gameplay is loads of fun, so if you missed out on this one originally, I can highly recommend picking up a copy.
