As we welcome the weekend, the Pure Nintendo team looks back to the games that helped us through the last seven days. We’re not shy about being avid Nintendo fans, and we try to squeeze in as many gaming hours as possible.

Are you looking for inspiration as to which game to play this weekend? Check out our latest favorites below, and let us know what’s on your playlist right now in the comments section.

  • Splatoon (Wii U): I got back into this to play with some friends this week. Lately I’ve been playing the Splat Zone ranked battles. I never really tried anything but turf war so it’s a nice little change from my usual. Also I’m really enjoying the new levels and weapons. As well as the fresh new gear that’s available.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (3DS): I finally beat this game.  The last area is pretty challenging by yourself, but I made it. Now I must try and complete some of the Drablands challenges while waiting for the DLC that was recently announced. I’m biding my time trying to get the last few outfits I need. Man, some of those materials are hard to get!

  • TrevorAnimal Crossing: amiibo Festival (Wii U): I’m enjoying this release more than many critics it seems.  Please check out my review if you haven’t already.
  • Chrono Trigger (DS): Not sure what made me decide to revisit this classic, but I’m reminded just how well it has held up!
  • Nintendo Badge Arcade (3DS eShop): I might never drop cash on this, yet I’ve still checked in daily.  I enjoy looking at the new badges that are introduced, and seeing what I can earn via free plays and such.Btw, Badge Arcade is a Question Block topic for a future PNM issue.  Please consider sharing your impressions on it; you might see your thoughts show up in the mag!  Post a comment below, on FB/Twitter, or send an email to Trevor@purenintendo.com.

Justin S

  • Justin Sharp
Yoshi’s Woolly World (Wii U): Barely scratched the surface on this game but my wife and I are loving every minute.

  • Nintendo Badge Arcade (3DS): I love Nintendo. I love collecting things. So I obviously really, really love collecting Nintendo things!
  • Pokémon Shuffle (3DS): The addiction continues, this week I beat Zebstrika and Salamence, now I’m stuck on Mega Heracross at level 210.
