As the weekend approaches we’re ready to delve into the endless possibilities that await, but not before we reflect on what got us through the last seven days.

Here’s what the Pure Nintendo team have been preoccupied with lately – what’s on your playlist this week?

James H

  • Mario Kart 8 (Wii U):
The only game I was able to play this week came yesterday when Mario Kart 8 was updated on my system. 200 CC and the new tracks are crazy fun.

Alex

  • Ultimate Angler and Battleground Z (3DS):
Thanks to international street pass week, I have been glued to my 3DS street pass games. I’ve caught around 50 species within the fishing game so far, and I am on the final stages of the zombie game. It has gotten to the point where I think I’m developing an unhealthy addiction. Please send help, but only after I reel in this sunfish to add to my aquarium.
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker (3DS):
Man, that title is a mouthful, isn’t it? Playing this one for a review, and you’ll be able to hear my thoughts on the game early in May. I’m gonna save the world, and learn the secret and dark arts of demons in order to do it. This series is always great to dive into, and the new content is something all remakes should strive for.

Tristan

  • Kid Icarus Uprising (3DS):
I recently broke down & cashed in my remaining Club Nintendo coins to pick up Kid Icarus Uprising. I’ve been meaning to check this game out for quite some time now & can’t believe what I missed out on! The 3D is fantastic, game-play fast paced & fun. But the banter between Pit & Palutena really steals the show! Go check it out if you haven’t already! .

Kaelyn

  • Super Smash Bros (Wii U):
I’ve been playing a lot more of this, this week. I’m trying to complete every event and get as many trophies and coins as possible. I also spectate online matches a lot. Those people can kick some butt!
  • Earthbound (Wii U VC):
I’m still on my quest to save the world. Took a break from this game for a few days but I’m back on track! Hoping to be reunited with my friend Paula soon. Wish me luck!
  • Mario Kart 8 (Wii U):
Who isn’t playing Mario Kart 8 this week? I’m so excited to have some new tracks! And 200cc is absolutely insane. I have to admit though, I do love a challenge :)

James C

  • Mario Kart 8 (Wii U):
As with most of the team, I got into the new MK DLC ASAP (sorry, that’s a lot of acronyms). I’ll be posting a mini-review of the new tracks very soon, but it’s exactly the fun and energy we all know and love from Mario Kart.
  • Pokémon World Rumble (3DS):
Thought I’d give this freemium title a try, and actually am enjoying it. I have a confession to make – I’ve never really been into Pokémon, so this is all new to me, maybe why I enjoy it.
  • Pokémon Shuffle (3DS):
This is basically going to be on my list for a long time. It’s just so easy to play when I have little time to get involved in something grander. Plus I’m addicted. I made a lot of progress this week but am now stuck on a level grr.
