Merry Chris…. Oh right, it’s January now. Well, try to rewind with me a bit and muster up whatever holiday cheer you have left because for this review we’re taking a trip to a little place called Christmas Wonderland (4). A place filled with so much Christmas it’ll make your head explode! Get ready to go on a magical point and click journey with 2 really enthusiastic rosy cheeked children named Bill and Mary . They are in search of ALOT of random objects and they need your help!

I have never understood holiday themed games… I think its neat when some of our games randomly update their environment for the holidays but a game where you can never escape Christmas is kind of a nightmare. Christmas Wonderland 4 is a hidden object game that places you in the most unrealistic town ever where everything is perfect and the only thought on anyone’s mind is to make Christmas absolutely awesome. Little Bill and Mary have a long to-do list and its seems like im the one doing everything while they sit around eating cookies and milk.

a list of items you must search for and other hidden objects.

The point and click gameplay is really boring in my opinion. When I would get tired of looking for things I would just tap all over the touch screen until my level was completed. Im not going to lie, it was fun for about 5 minutes then I realized this was all I would be doing. Once in a while between levels they throw in a corny unchallenging mini game where you must do things like match the santa head to the correct beard and matching gift tags to presents….exciting.

The graphics weren’t horrible some of the scenes were actually pleasant to look at, until I got tired of staring at them. Besides a few small animations in some of the scenes there’s not much action. There’s a points system but I still don’t know what it’s for seeing as I have played about 2 hours all together and nothing new has unlocked, maybe its just there for gratification? The controls are all easy to figure out, its all mostly touch screen but there’s also a zoom button, a button to press if you need a hint and you can use the joystick to pan around the scene. Pretty basic.

One of the many Holiday scenes you'll be looking over...and over and over. (This Screenshot is from a different version of this game)

Like I said before I don’t like being mean when it comes to video games but I have to be honest when it comes to reviews. If you have young children or you are super hyped when it comes to Christmas you may get some enjoyment from this game. I’ll even say, if your in the right mood and its the right time of year YOU might enjoy this game, but I really recommend waiting for a price drop seeing as its going for a whopping $9.99 on the eshop. Merry late Christmas everyone!
