RUMOR: Super Smash Bros. Character Selection Screen Leaked (Pictures)
Gamnesia has reported on a rumor that pictures of the character selection screen for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. was leaked on 4chan. The 4chan post has since been deleted so there is no chance to really put any credibility to these leaked photos but as with all rumors we can only speculate until more concrete information arises. In these pictures that Gamnesia posted it shows 50 character slots with only some of the already announced characters unlocked. There is also, what Gamnesia seems to believe, a random tile that appears just off screen at the edge of one of the pictures.
Super Smash Bros. is due out for 3DS this Summer and for Wii U this Winter. Super Smash Bros. will likely be in playable form on the E3 2014 show floor as they are also holding an invitational tournament at E3. Nintendo is also holding a 90 minute presentation for the press regarding Super Smash Bros. at E3 2014 on Tuesday, June 10, at 7 p.m. PDT.

looks legit. Especially with the placement of Sonic & Mega Man together (3rd party). There are a few slots blank next to them suggesting other 3rd party characters (probably Pac Man with the Namco development). I think the fact that most of the characters are locked adds to the credibility. If it was fake they’d just outright show every character…

I think what leads to believe it’s not entirely true is that all the unused player slots have a 3 in them instead of 2, 3, and 4. I don’t know though, they look pretty convincing…
