Since its recent release in the US last month, many gamers in other territories have been wondering when they might get their hands on the highly-acclaimed retro platformer, Shovel Knight.

For those fans (myself included) there is some good news and bad news on the localization front.

Firstly, the good news: developers Yacht Club Games have updated their website with some very detailed information on the international status of Shovel Knight’s release in those three regions. A picture says a thousand words, and here are some graphics that nicely explain the game’s release journey for other regions:

shovel-knight-europe

shovel-knight-australia

shovel-knight-japan

The bad news, then: judging by the short distance ye olde Shovel Knight has traveled thus far, it appears release is still a fair way off.

The site helpfully goes on to explain what each of the points in the progress bar entail, so at least we can know the full story while we wait.

Are you in one of the waiting regions? Perhaps you’re in the US and have already played Shovel Knight? Let us know your comments either way.

And while we continue to watch our knightly hero’s progress via infographics, check out our 3DS review to see why it’s worth the wait.
