European and Australian/New Zealand fans waiting for Super Smash Bros. 3DS will be awarded the same free demo as our North American friends.

Nintendo has confirmed that the demo will be made available in PAL regions on September 19 (Europe) and September 20 (Australia and New Zealand), in a similar way to the US. That is, the demo will be available on the eShop with the following characteristics:

  • unlimited play
  • Smash mode available
  • five playable characters (Mario, Villager, Link, Pikachu and Mega Man)
  • one stage (Battlefield)
  • the ability to compete in local multiplayer matches with others who have downloaded the demo.

The other great news for these regions is that selected Club Nintendo members will receive an email with four download codes today – so one for yourself and three for your friends. Unlike the US, where you must be a Platinum Club Nintendo member, it is not clear which members will be receiving the early codes in Europe and Australia/New Zealand, so it could be a random selection.

In any case, let us know if you’re the lucky recipient of an email with those codes. The rest of us will have to wait until this time next week to enjoy the demo for ourselves.
