What to Expect in “The Letter” Updates
If you have seen our previous post about The Letter‘s Canadian eShop release, you know that developer TreeFall Studios is planning to update the game in the future. Founder Eli Brewer has contacted us concerning the nature of these updates.
TreeFall Studios has decided to combine the two updates into one large update, which will be released sometime in the future. In terms of gameplay, players can expect to find expanded versions of the first two areas, along with a new letter and side-quest.
Basically, the first update revamps the entire game. It adds saving and loading features, it changes the title screen, the loading screen, adds multiple new main mission items to find, builds upon and expands two of the first released levels from the main game…
On top of discovering clues to solve the mystery and beat the game, and finding (sic) hidden letters to learn more backstory, there are now 4 hidden tapes throughout the entire game, and if you can find all 4, you unlock a secret at the end of the game!
The Letter‘s update also includes a few technical changes:
[F]ramerate is improved, and with the levels being added on too/redesigned, the grass has been removed and a new plethora of ground foliage is in the second level.
TreeFall Studios plans to release an update further down the road which will allow Control Options and Off-TV Play. We will continue to follow this story as it develops. To see Trevor Gould’s review of The Letter, look no further.

Lianne, you’ll be disappointed. :(
The fact that this guy is working on another game rather than pouring all of his time into fixing this speaks volumes. It’s not just the technical aspects that lack effort either; the story is so bad that I literally laughed at the end of it. I laughed, because of just HOW shoddy the story and ‘twist’ ending is – he obviously couldn’t be bothered to actually wind up with a proper conclusion. His ending is THE universal cop-out. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts after you’ve played it.
To be fair and to his credit, the audio actually is not that bad.

Haha I played for about 5 minutes before I gave up. It was so tacky…. I’m glad I got it for free!

Gah, can someone delete this accidental ‘guest-made’ comment I posted? Not possible as it wasn’t done via my account.
