[expand title=”Click for full press release”] REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Available today, Wii Sports Club – Golf is the next sport to join the all-star Wii Sports Club lineup exclusively in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U. Wii Sports Club – Golf features unique controls using the Wii U GamePad and Wii Remote Plus controllers. By placing the GamePad on the floor, players can see the golf ball they are about to hit on the GamePad screen. The golf ball will even be sitting on the same surface that it is in the game (fairway, sand trap, rough, etc.). After players swing their Wii Remote Plus controllers like a real golf club, the ball will fly from the GamePad screen to the main TV screen and onto the virtual course. This creative integration of the GamePad evokes the same “Cool! I have to try that!” feeling elicited by the original Wii Sports. Click here to view a new trailer for Wii Sports Club.

Wii Sports Club – Golf joins currently available sports Wii Sports Club – Tennis and Wii Sports Club – Bowling. All five classic sports from the original Wii Sports are being released individually as downloads in the Nintendo eShop, and feature high-definition graphics, controls via Wii MotionPlus technology and immersive GamePad integration, as well as an online multiplayer versus mode. In this mode, users with broadband Internet access can face off against friends and family members online.

Wii U owners who download Wii Sports Club will get a trial pass that will let them play any available sports for a 24-hour period from when the Wii Sports Club game is started. Once the trial period ends, players can purchase a Day Pass for $1.99 in the Nintendo eShop to play all available sports for a 24-hour period, or can buy a Club Pass that provides permanent access to individual sports for $9.99 each.
