Bittersweet news Nintendo fans: Eiji Aonuma has just confirmed via Youtube and a post on Miiverse that 2015 will no longer be a priority for launching the new Legend of Zelda.  In the video, Aonuma explained that over the last 3 months, the team had discovered a lot of new possibilities with the open-world nature of the new Zelda.  As a result, they wanted to make sure those possibilities become a reality in the final product.  I, for one, am disappointed but I completely understand.  I’d much rather have a more complete and polished open-world experience that’s brimming with things to do, than have an experience that ends up being a missed opportunity.

Nintendo of America also confirmed on Twitter that the Legend of Zelda will not be shown at E3 2015.  Here’s hoping we still get some sort of trailer even if it’s not playable.

What do you guys/gals think?  On the bright side, I’ll probably have more time to play Star Fox and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
