It’s here – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is out in the wild! During this week’s episode of the Pure Nintendo Podcast, Jemma, Trev, Kirk, and Justin talk about our initial impressions of the game, from the intro scene to exploring the sky islands, as well as those fancy new abilities. It’s an exciting time to be a fan of the series, and we love talking about it as we begin the long journey back into Hyrule!

On last week’s episode of the Pure Nintendo Podcast, we discussed our final thoughts ahead of the launch of one of the biggest games of the year. The excitement is palpable! We recorded this week’s show mere hours after the game was released, giving us just enough time to delve into the updated world of Hyrule.

We spent a lot of time on the Great Sky Island, the game’s training ground akin to the Great Plateau of Breath of the Wild. The Temple of Time is RIGHT THERE but first we’ll need to solve a few shrines to gain the blessings of light and open those big temple doors. What’s not obvious, at least at first, is just how big this sky area is. It’s easy to get lost discovering every nook and cranny before making your way back down to the damaged land of Hyrule. For example, did you know there are 19 Korok seeds hidden up here?

Are you enjoying Tears of the Kingdom? What’s your favorite new ability? How many shrines and Korok seeds have you found? Let us know YOUR first impressions in the comments section!
