3DS Sales Ahead of Game Boy Advance in Japan
Great news for the 3DS, which recently passed 15 million sales in Japan during its 154th week on sale. This compares very well with the Game Boy Advance, which had only managed to shift 11.64 million units in the same period.
The DS still fares better, as the best-selling portable console of all time, selling over 20 million units at its 154th week.
Considering the rocky start to the 3DS, Nintendo have turned the console’s fortunes around significantly after the early price cut and a continual stream of strong titles and support.
The company now expects the 3DS to lead its financial performance this year, with the Wii U’s sales falling shorter than expectations.

Although the GBA was a great system (and it still is), it’s no surprise that the 3DS takes the lead.

I love my 3DS, however I have some fond memories of my AA battery powered white GBA.
