The Pure Nintendo team has played its way through another week with a variety of titles, though we clearly all love Mario Kart 8 at the moment. We . As the weekend approaches we’re ready to delve into the endless possibilities that await, but not before we reflect on what got us through the last seven days.
Here’s what the Pure Nintendo team have been preoccupied with lately – what’s on your playlist this week?

Mario Kart 8 (Wii U): Played a lot more of the DLC this week with Alex, Matt, and Tristan online. The 200cc mode is pretty fun but the levels go by so quickly. I hope as they move forward with 200cc in the future that they create longer tracks.
-
Super Smash Bros. (Wii U): Played some with some friends this weekend and it was a lot of fun. Got to try out more of the 8-player maps that Nintendo updated in one of the recent patches. Such a fun game!
Matt
- Xenoblade Chronicles: In playthrough no.3 and just about to enter Satorl Marsh
- Mega Man X: Trying to speed up my runthrough of that game. Not a speedrunner, but it’s still fun.
-
Phoenix Wright – Trials and Tribulations: Tracking down the dastardly Thgriw Xineop.
-
Mario Kart 8: 200cc is really hard!
-
Shantae & The Pirate’s Curse: Just released on Steam, so I thought I’d play it again on Wii U.

Earthbound: I’m still searching for Paula but now I have the power of teleportation! Which is extremely helpful. Time for me to head back to Fourside and take down the Monotoli building once and for all!
-
Cube Creator 3D (3DS): I had to play this for a review I was doing and I’ll have to say it’s a lot more fun than I thought it would be. If your a fan of Minecraft or any block building game like it, checkout my review!
-
Super Smash Bros (Wii U): Must…get…every trophy! I have an obsession with this now, for some reason. I find myself playing Smash Bros every night for at least an hour or 2 before bed.

- Mario Kart 8 (Wii U): Plenty of time was spent with the Animal Crossing DLC this week, I even made time for a review of the new tracks, which are brilliant.
- Pokémon Shuffle (3DS): Yes .. I’m still going with this! It’s an addiction. After some decent progress I’m stuck again on the main game but I’m quite happy with the special stages that are thrown our way occasionally, which keeps the game exciting.

I have been playing:
Mario Kart 8 (Wii U) I am trying to earn the 200 CC. (Yes, I know it is available now to everyone with the update, but I really want to earn it.)
Mario and Luigi Dream team (3DS)
Golden Sun (Wii U VC) Not as much time as I would like to spend on this game.
And much like James C, Pokemon Shuffle (3DS) I also am stuck in the main game but have been trying to get every Pokemon in the Safari.

I am getting my wish today…Mega Man Palico Gear in May’s DLC! I’ll be working on that this weekend.
My Smash Brothers Brawl tournament was a big hit with my 8th graders. We did 2 full tournaments and the first round of a third before the day was done. We are planning one more before the school year ends.
I am also anticipating the release of SMT: Devil Survivor 2 this coming week.

Oh the kids had a blast! We are planning one more Wii day before the end of the school year. This time we want to have two going at once: Brawl in one room and Mario Kart in another!

That sounds like fun. Good luck with everything.
