Check out the full list below and let us know which games will make their way onto your systems this week.
Wii U eShop
- Star Ghost (Squarehead Studios, €8.99/ £7.99) – this procedurally-generated shoot-em-up is inspired by arcade classics and utilises a control scheme like that of Donkey Kong’s rocket barrel stages.
- Bird Mania Party (Teyon, €1.99/ £1.79) – a follow-up to 3DS flying “runner” Bird Mania, this title sees you guide your bird through randomly-generated levels to avoid objects as the speed increases. This new HD version comes with multiplayer options, with two players able to tackle the game together in co-op mode or a competitive party mode for five players, with extra competitors using Wii Remotes.
- Steel Rivals (nuGAME, €6.99 / £5.99) – this fighting game could bring relief to those craving the genre on the Wii U, with a budget price yet offering a Tournament Mode, unlockable outfits and local multiplayer.
- Dreamals (XINESS, €4.99/ £4.49) – this puzzle game sees you guiding three animals to safety, each restricted to travelling in one direction only.
Wii U Virtual Console
- Super Mario Advance (Nintendo, €6.99/ £6.29) – this 2001 Game Boy Advance title was the first in a series of enhanced re-releases of Mario platfomers. This one includes Super Mario Bros. 2 and a version of the original Mario Bros. for some classic Mario action.
- Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World (Nintendo, €6.99/ £6.29) – the second in the series was released on the Game Boy Advance in 2002. This one, as indicated by the title, is a re-release of Super Mario World, first made famous on the SNES. This GBA iteration does offer some tweaks to the original formula and is a faithful recreation.
- Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 (Nintendo, €6.99/ £6.29) – as the name implies, this is the remaster of Super Mario Bros. 3, the third NES game, and was released on the Game Boy Advance in 2003. This enhanced version brings a 16-bit look to the original, plus extra stages that were only accessible with e-Reader cards.
Wii U Virtual Console Promotion
