During the Pokemon Sun and Moon presentation at Gamescom with battle director Shigeki Morimoto, a new Pokemon was revealed for the first time. Turtonator is a Fire/Dragon type that looks to take inspiration from the real life South American Mata-Mata soft shell turtle.
Turtonator comes with the ability of shell armor, which shields it from critical hits, and it also has a brand new move, shell trap, which hits any Pokemon with explosive damage if they attack Turtonator the same turn the move was used.
It was also worth noting that Pikachu was also shown off at Gamescom using a normal type Z move called Hyper Sprint Attack.
With Pokemon Sun and Moon releasing on November 18th, will you be looking to capture and train a Turtonator for your team? What do you think of its design? As always, share your thoughts with us in the comments.
