It’s time to reveal the latest round of releases ready to storm onto the eShop this week in Europe. This Thursday brings a long list of games, including some classic Virtual Console titles, a few interesting new platformers and shoot ’em ups, puzzle games, and some great discounts to boot.

  • Teslapunk (klutzGames, €9.99 / £8.99) – a retro-style shoot ’em up, here you fight off an alien invasion, led by a martian who claims to be DJ by night and an invader by day. The game comes with a six stage campaign plus survival mode.
  • Scribble (Bear Box Media, €2.99 / £2.99) – the makers of U Host are back with an expanded version of their Pictionary-based minigame. Here you’re presented with five modes, with over 1500 words in 17 categories. There’s also the option to create your own words and contests.
  • Breakout Defense (nuGAME, €7.00 / £7.00) – this game takes the classic Breakout formula and adds a competitive twist, with two paddles competing against each other. You take on the AI or a friend locally to battle it out.
  • Test Your Mind (XenoHorizon, €1.99 / £1.99) – a compilation of minigames that put your brain to the test, with support for two-player action.

Wii U Virtual Console

  • Pikmin 2 (Nintendo, €19.99 / £17.99) – originally released in 2004 on the GameCube, this is the ‘New Play Control’ version that came to the Wii in 2009. This sequel sees you play as Captain Olimar and Louie as you use small plant-like creatures known as Pikmin to explore an alien planet.
