Here’s something for the collectors out there. Nintendo memorabilia has branched out to the postal service, giving a whole new meaning to the word ‘nostalgia’.
The postage stamps, which go on sale in Japan today June 28, feature Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad, who’s adorably dressed as a postal worker. Bowser is strangely absent, appearing only among the background artwork and not on an actual stamp.
The stamps are designed and packaged with collectors in mind, available only as a sheet of ten 82-yen (US$0.74) stamps. The artwork is arrayed in two columns and additional non-stamp illustrations grace the non-stamp space as well, including Bowser.
The 820-yen sheet of Super Mario stamps is on sale in Japan post offices and through Japan Post’s online shop. With plans to print two million sheets, will you be getting a copy for yourself? Let us know your thoughts on these unique decorations.
