Each year at GDC they hold a award ceremony, Game Developers Choice Awards, where they hand out awards for; game of the year, beast hand held game, best graphics, and all the normal awards stuff.  It seems like Nintendo got snubbed in a few areas, especial Galaxy getting beating out by Portal for game of the year. Below is the one award Nintendo won.
