Would you like to add Cinderace to your team? Of course you would! Well this bipedal, rabbit-like Pokémon is currently appearing in special Tera Raide Battles on Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet for Nintendo Switch.
Cinderace with the Mightiest Mark is here to commerorate 2023, which just happens to be the year of the rabbit. This Cinderace has Fighting as its Tera Type, making it a formidable foe.
You can try scoring a win against Cinderace right now until January 1, 2023 at 3:59 p.m. PST. This may seem like a small window of opportunity, but if you miss out, don’t worry – there’s another chance later in January via a rerun event. This will begin on January 12, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. PST and end on January 15, 2023, at 3:59 p.m. PST.
Since Cinderace cannot normally be encountered in Paldea, this is a rate opportunity to capture the orange-and-white pocket monster. There are, however, a couple of special conditions you’ll need to meet in order to encounter it.
Firstly, you’ll need to download the latest Poké Portal News. This is easy to do: go online on your Nintendo Switch or select Poké Portal in the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Get Poké Portal News. After that, whenever you see a sparkling pillar of light shining from a Tera Raid crystal, you can walk up to the crystal and interact with it to start a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon.
Secondly, Trainers will need to either complete the postgame events that follow the main story or join a 7-star Tera Raid Battle hosted by a Trainer who has completed those events.
There’s one other little note to keep in mind. This special Cinderace can be caught only once per save data. Once caught, you can still participate in Tera Raid Battles against Cinderace to obtain other rewards, including significant amounts of Exp. Candy for leveling up your Pokémon and Tera Shards for changing your Pokémon’s Tera Type.
So, what do you say? Will you be going for a special new-year Cinderace during this event? Let us know if you’ve been successful in the Tera Battle Raid! And which other Pokémon would you like to see make appearances like this?
