This week on the Pure Nintendo Podcast, Jemma and Kirk discuss the latest console numbers, since Sony just declared a new sales figure for their PlayStation 2. How? Why? And can the Nintendo Switch catch up?
Last week, we discussed the importance of timing when it comes to releasing a new console. This week, the console discussion moves into the strange revelation that the PS2 has somehow increased its sales recently, despite being a 20-year-old system that’s no longer for sale. We talk about Nintendo’s latest numbers and give our full thoughts on the situation.
Last week was Thanksgiving, which means sales. We talk about the games we picked up during these massive sales, with Kirk getting quite the bargain. Let us know of any good deals you found!
Meanwhile, Professor Layton is heading to the Switch in 2025. A new trailer has just been released to showcase the upcoming game’s style and mechanics. It looks wonderful, and features the original voice actors from the previous outings, at least in the Japanese version. This leads to a discovery of a long-lost Layton animated movie from 2009. Have you seen it?
Nintendo Music has a new soundtrack on offer, bringing the classic DS soundtrack of Brain Age to the app. We talk about the tunes and the game as we look forward to more music each week.
We’re playing some fun games, from the addictive Balatro to a new puzzle RPG in the form of Dungeons of Dreadrock 2. There’s so much to enjoy, from Switch Online additions like Donkey Kong Land to the upcoming Fantasian. Where do we find the time?
