Hidden paradise...how could we look for more?
Hidden in My Paradise is a hidden object game, and then some. It features levels in which you have to find certain objects whether they be in plain sight or hidden behind walls or trees. The premise is super casual and fun, which is all it really needs to offer, but the developers also added some extra content. You can find hidden fairies throughout each level, and you move objects to recreate the scenes given to you. You can also go on to create your own puzzles and solve other players’ creations.
Gameplay is very easy. You move your cursor around with the L stick, move the screen with the right, and interact with objects with A. You can click on an object with A to find it or hold A and grab an object to move it. Moving objects can be useful in finding other objects, as sometimes they like to hide behind trees or furniture, but it’s also important for recreating snapshots. When finding objects, you are given a list at the bottom. If you ever find yourself stuck, you can click on the item listed and the screen will take you to where it is. As well as moving the screen, you can also zoom in and out, which helps your search as well.
Recreating snapshots is easy; all you need to do is look at the picture they give you and move each animal or object into view. It doesn’t need to be an exact replica, as things can be switched around and don’t need to be precisely placed. As long as all objects are in frame you get a check. There is a camera on the side of your screen on which you click to capture your recreation.
Finding fairies involves moving objects as well. They like to hide behind certain objects, and you can tell which ones as they start to sparkle. When you see an object sparkling, you just drag it away and the fairy flies out. There are usually four fairies and two snapshots in each level.
As you find objects and fairies and recreate snapshots, you earn gold and tickets. You can also find gold within hidden treasure chests on each level. You can use gold to buy your own objects for the sandbox portion of the game in which you create your own hidden object puzzle.
The tickets can be used in the gacha machine, which in return gives you free objects—usually multiple at a time.
The graphics of Hidden in my Paradise are absolutely adorable, as there are so many cute animals doing cute activities. A lot of the levels are centered around outside activities such as camping, which gives the game a cute and cozy feel. Also, you can change not only the time of day during levels, but also the filter so that each time you play it’s suited to your visual tastes. The aesthetics of the game help make it fun, as there’s so much to look at and play with.
Hidden in my Paradise is the perfect game for those who enjoy casual and laidback gameplay. You can play it anywhere you like, and for as long as your heart desires. And if the recent winter update is any indication, Ogre Pixel will satisfy your heart’s desires for some time to come.
Review: Hidden in My Paradise (Nintendo Switch)
Good
As far as hidden object games go, Hidden in My Paradise does a great job of remaining challenging and fun. It’s a game anyone can enjoy. And considering its inexpensive price, it actually offers a lot more than what first meets the eye.
