Dragon Quest IX for DS

Square-Enix and Nintendo announced today that Dragon Quest IX (the next title in the series) would not be coming to either the PS3 or the Wii, but rather EXCLUSIVELY to the DS. This is a major announcement and shows just how much Nintendo has progressed. Nintendo’s President, Satoru Iwata, has really been pushing for more third-party support and he’s getting it from many major developers.

I’m very excited about Nintendo and Square-Enix right now. Both companies have a great relationship with each other, and that means good news for Nintendo fans. If Square-Enix is announcing a HUGE title like this coming to a Nintendo system, who’s to say Final Fantasy won’t come over too? Time will tell. Once the dust settles from the console wars, will Nintendo come out on top both in hardware and software?
