DSi For Hardcore Gamers…. At First
“Right out of the gate [the DSi audience] is probably the hardcore gamers. They’re usually the early adopters that want to get the latest version of something, and they’ll be the ones that put it through its paces the hardest and give us all kind of feedback and tell us what they like and don’t like.” – Charlie Scibetta, Nintendo of America spokesperson
I can see this being true. Do not get me wrong, the DSi is great and I will be buying it when it comes out, but for the fact that it plays the same games as the normal DS is going to turn away a lot of casual gamers at first.

The DS Lite played exactly the same games as the DS, and it sold well… Even to the people that already had a DS. Same with the DS and GBA.
People will buy it for the new games that can only be played on the DSi if nothing else.

Wow, you bring up a good point WC. Now let me play devil’s advocate. Do you think the casual crowd, people not like me, and I am assuming you because you check this site, would buy “another” system that they think plays the same games. I assume there will be a few games that use the camera.

I love Nintendo too much to not get this! I’ve bought every Nintendo system out there, even if it was just a newer version of something, what can I say, I love Nintendo. I play their games on a hourly bases (school stops me from doing this secondly :P) and if they have an upgrade that’ll slightly change my gaming experiance, I don’t mind. The only thing I haven’t invested in was the GameBoy Macro, thats it….it was too tiny :(
